Freedom and a sense of physical/emotional security... might be too general an answer, but it is something he strongly associates with Before: a life where he was traveling on the open road with people he cared about and wasn't waking up every day thinking 'am I or someone I love going to go through hell today and am I going to be helpless to do anything about it again :/a'. But if you asked him that question ICly he would probably say he missed steak.

He doesn't want her here (particularly after the last game!) and would be very much worried and very much unhappy with it if she came, but if she did, he'd go to her and tell her what he could (like what her name was) and then talk to her team and probably just... do his best to protect her from over on Cepheus. And I'm sure there would at some point down the road be a time where he'd have to choose between her and his team/another team/etc. and he would probably choose her and then go be a giant emo ball about it.

Claude would tell Syaoran to choose her anyway cause she is the Princess and the person Syaoran should protect most 8(

CLAUDE ON SYAO: He doesn't remember having a younger brother but figures this is what it's probably like having one. o/ They're alike in a lot of ways, and dealing with Syao in his sincere desire to help, to be strong for others, to be useful and not be a burden, often gives Claude some conscious insight into himself esp. when he's being retarded in a very similar manner. He knows Syaoran is starting to take it on himself to protect him, and while he appreciates it, he's learned enough in his own time in Sabra to know that if Syaoran doesn't let that relationship go both ways he'll eventually break down under the strain of trying to Deal on his own. :/a Which is why Claude pesters him about his memories and how he's feeling and so on after a bad game; otherwise, he's just going to bottle it up like a certain other someone and their No-Faces :|

Which reminds me we should thread the last batch of memories or something. Even though mine already ate his. :|a

R-r-r-reversal! So I kind of think of that one scene from canon in Infinity where Syao is talking about Sakura basically doing the bottling up thing we talked about and how she shouldn't do it and Kurogane's like "you should act the way you think" and he's like "...huh?" because that's... basically what's going on here! Claude shall be reprising the role of Princess Sakura durhurhur. Basically he can clearly see that Claude takes a lot on himself and tries so hard to protect others and it kind of worries him, he knows it's not good for Claude and wants to help him any way he can and so he just gets more determined that he won't tell him anything bad. The hypocrisy is a little lost on him. :|a

However, he... really looks up to Claude already, and he hasn't even been around that long. But Claude is kind and caring and honest and just so obviously an all-round good person and some you can just trust to keep your best interests in mind. He wants to protect that! And it is something like a big brother thing and Claude's words probably carry a little more weight than most people's. If anyone can give him a mental whack upside the head on the keeping things to yourself thing, it's probably Claude.

Umm... question, question... what would Claude do if his girl came to Sabra? Apart from forgetting that she's pregnant :|a

HE'S MOSTLY GOTTEN OVER THE GUILT PART in the sense that he can't dwell on it forever cause that would just make him miserable all the time :|a And he realizes that no matter what team he picked in that game he would've ended up regretting that he hadn't picked another that got crushed, so really there was no good option in the end, but knowing now that Partner Teams was the right answer and that Lepus picked Cepheus despite many other teams they could've decided on, he's still firmly feeling that He Owes Them One, so he's going to support them as much as he can the next time something like this happens again. THE TEAMS SHOULD BOND MORE TOO but Mao makes it kind of difficult :(
