WHAT IT IS:
THERE ARE TWO SOMEWHAT VARYING VERSIONS OF CANON of how this happens and one version where it doesn't happen at all y-yay SO2... so here is a writeup of the composite version I'm going with for Sabra 8|a For context, takes place after what happened in Memory 4 chronologically.

[ Claude, Rena and the rest of the party fight their way to the top of the DOOMTOWER. On the highest floor, they find a huge OMINOUS ALIEN DEVICE with an equally OMINOUS ENERGY to it. The party approaches cautiously. ]
Claude: What...is this?!
Rena: Is that...the Sorcery Globe?
[ there's a flash of ENERGY BALL SHOOTING and something impacts just in front of Rena ]
Rena: --Aah!!
Claude: Rena!
[ ten MYSTERIOUS FIGURES show up in front of the OMINOUS ALIEN DEVICE. ]
???1: DO NOT MOVE...HALT RIGHT THERE.
???2: Why does that woman have a Quadratic Key? We created the core and crystallized that key. There should be only one key!
Rena: Who are you?!
[ ???1 powers up his weapon and takes another shot straight for Rena ohno!!1 ]
Claude: --look out!
[ Claude like a TRUE HERO throws his poorly armored body in the way of ENERGY BALL SHOOTING. This doesn't end well for Claude, who crumples to the floor with a bleeding hole in his gut, and Rena falling to her knees beside him ]
Claude: Ggh...
Rena: Claude!
???1: REPEAT, DO NOT MOVE. I KNOW YOU UNDERSTAND US.
Rena: Claude, hold on!
[ Rena invokes INNATE HEALING POWERS, patching up that hole good as new '-'b The ten MYSTERIOUS FIGURES are taken aback!!1 ]
???3: Powers of healing... you must be a Nedian!
Claude: [ sitting up ]--!

Claude: What're you saying? Just who are you?!

[ at that REVELATION Claude is stunned, while the rest of the party save Opera and Ernest is just plain confused :|a ]

Celine: You people...what are you saying?

[ the party looks at Claude, who stands there in silence ]
???5: Hmm... There is no way you could understand. So let me explain it to you. That boy is not from Expel. He is a being from another planet.

Claude: Rena, don't listen to what they say! ...what is your purpose? Were you the ones who destroyed Eluria?!

???3: And what's more, you're too late. This planet is already on a collision course with Nede! Even if you knew our purpose, there is nothing that you can do.
[ Claude goes white, while the rest of the party (apart from Opera and Ernest, who wear equally D8 expressions as Claude) seems to fail to comprehend the full IMPLICATIONS of that ]
Rena: Coll...ision?
Claude: Why would you do such a thing?! Are you trying to destroy this planet?!
[ Cue ???7's EVIL LAUGHTER. This does not help Claude's HEROIC INDIGNATION. ]
Claude: What's so funny?!
???7: Just like a lower organism. I suspected they had such shallow thinking. So what if one planet in this sector is destroyed? It is merely a means for us to return to Nede. All of these are merely stepping stones towards us regaining our powers and making the galaxy and universe ours.
Claude: You're going to conquer the galaxy?!
???7: Yes. Of course, worms such as you would not understand.
[ the entire DOOMTOWER rumbles under their feet. ]
???8: The time is near. This planet will soon collide with Nede.
[ Claude, in desperation, has one more question. ]
Claude: Why? Why did you pick this planet?!
???8: This planet was merely the planet with a period and orbit closest to that of Nede. ...that is all.
???5: The Quadratic Sphere... called the Sorcery Globe in your world. We used it to alter the planetary orbit in order to make it collide with Nede.
???6: But we had no idea that there would be a Quadratic Key on this planet. Thanks to it, our plans were sped up by 100 years.
[ Rena steps forward at last. ]
Rena: This thing that you've been calling the Quadratic Key, what exactly is it?!
???4: It is made by crystallizing the Symbological stone that you call the 'Energy Stone'. It's hanging around your neck.
[ all eyes on Rena's HEIRLOOM PENDANT, which had been with her since she was first found in the SACRED FOREST as an baby. ]
Rena: This is it, this pendant? But why...
???fuckIdon'tcareanymore: It is not surprising that you as a Nedian would have it. Only a Nedian could create a Quadratic Key.
???: Enough of this. After all, you will all die right here.
[ Claude moves to the forefront of the party, HEROIC INDIGNATION at maximum by now. Shaking with rage and determination: ]
Claude: I'll never let you. We'll defeat you and put an end to these foolish doings.
???7: Too bad. Even if you defeat us, you can no longer change the orbit of Expel.
Claude: We'll see about that!
[ WEAPONS are drawn. ]
???3: What a fool... well, humor him and put up a fight.
???1: THEY SEEM TO HAVE A DEATH WISH.
???shirtless dude: The only sympathy I can offer is to kill you without making you suffer too much...

[ . It is pretty much the worst fight you can imagine, since neither sword nor hammer nor magic of any kind phases Metatron's SHIELDS, while Metatron has no problems beating the crap out of the party. Still, everyone fights with everything they have, and...
...Opera's rifle lies destroyed on the ground, along with Ashton's swords and Precis's robots. Leon's book is still in his hands where he lies. Rena's in one corner trying to heal Ernest-- the closest of them she can reach. The only two still on their feet are Claude and Dias, who at this point are just trying to get past Metatron to reach the Sorcery Globe-- and keep getting blasted back.
After one more, Claude pulls himself to his feet, barely managing to stand with the help of his sword. Dias does not. Metatron surveys the field, and powers down his shields. ]
Metatron: Haah... you do well. However, I can play no more.
???redheadw/book: If we make it this far, then we can teleport to Nede under our own power. Goodbye, fools.
[ one by one, the MYSTERIOUS FIGURES warp away. Claude stumbles toward the OMINOUS ALIEN DEVICE as the tower continues to rumble, swaying--
--there's a deafening roar all around them, and everything whites out. ]
