There was an old man sleeping under a tree. That's what he thought at first. But as he drew closer it became clear. It wasn't an old man despite the head of stark white hair. It was a boy, smaller than himself. It was a bit of a surprise. This route was one of his own personal best kept secrets. Incredibly safe and fast, if a bit boring.

He stooped at the boy's side, looking him over. No fresh injuries, just the scars of a possibly difficult past. His arm seemed a bit deformed. But nothing terrible.

So Red settled near the boy to get his own bit of shut eye.

When the boy Allen Walker woke later, he stared at the stranger beside him. And then set about fixing a meal, knowing the smell would likely rouse this strange new one-eyed companion. Perhaps he had word of how Delphinus currently fared. There was rumor of disease at the port country that left him uneasy.

The boy had no idea just how much information he would soon gain. Not to mention the laughter, the uncalled for invasion of personal space, and an offer for a place to rest if he should ever enter Cepheus.
